Help Required for Movies Folder Structure (1 Viewer)

G'day,

My videos are currently organised on my NAS drive under the following folders structures:

/DVDs/Animation: for kids animations - approx. 40 movies
/DVDs/Drama: for adults drama - approx. 20 movies
/DVDs/Music Video: for music videos - approx. 10 videos

What I want to know is can I configure Movies (or Videos) in MP to have submenus for each of the above folder structure? I have downloded and tried playing around with Moving Pictures plugin but cannot find a way to set this up.

I would like to keep the folder structure separate as opposed to having ALL the movies listed when I enter the Movies menu.

I can do this quiet easily in WMC7 using Mediabrowser plugin and am looking for something similar in MP.

If you are just interested in that structure you can use the built in myVideos plugin. It might be possible in MovingPic as well, but you would have to research a bit.

Hi.
You can easily define categories in Moving Pictures depending on the source path. And as you can launch some plugins (including Moving Pictures) with startup parameters you can have short cuts directly on basic home to those categories...
Use "full path contains Animation" for category "Animation", "full path contains Drama" for all Dramas and so on...


Those categories are defined inside Moving Pictures Configuration. And the short cuts are defined in Basic Home Menu editor if your skin has one.

^ yup what Lehmden said is correct and covers exactly the way you want to do it. You can have short cuts on the home screen called animation / drama / etc, or you can set it up so when you go in to moving pictures you are presented with a menu with animation / drama etc.

Thanks Lehmden and Kiwijunglist ! Tried this last night and it gives me huge amount of flexibility ! Exactly what I was looking for.

So far, I just love what MP has to offer !!
