    Hi,

Mediaportal & TV3 now contain a new filter to read .ts files.

    Whats new in this filter?
    • complete rewrite, meant to replace the buggy TsFileSource
    • fast/good seeking
    • can read both local .ts files as rtsp streams

Its enabled by default in the current svn builds of MediaPortal.

    Note:
The filter works in singleseat and multiseat-configuration.

    NOTE!!!
Please disable all options in the tv plugin setup like
    - prefer ac3
    - recreate graph when video changes
    - recreate graph when audio changes

Please let us know YOUR results...

How to test and create logs:
    • use the latest builds of MediaPortal and TV-Server / Client plugin
    • Start MediaPortal with the MediaPortal Debug shortcut in your start menu
    • after reproducing the problem, close MediaPortal
    • all log-files get collected in one zip file
    • reply to this thread by pressing the "go advanced" button below the quickreply box
    • write down step by step what happened and what is wrong. then attach the exported zip file to your post
Please also tell us which TV-Card(s) and codecs you are using.

    :D

    Hi Frodo,

    - I did a clean isntall of MP 0.2.3.0 RC1 + SVN + TVserver SVN
    - Made the c:\useTsReader.tx file.
    - Setup TV server using only 2 DVB-C transponders (for testing)
    - Config MP for using the tv server

When timeshifting manually on the TV server setup, everythings seems to be great. There's no delaying when changing the channels and the logs looks normal.

But when watching TV the problem starts. After changing the channels for about ten times it hangs completely. When viewing the logs i get the -famous- wait for PMT errors....
I don't know if the PMT problem has somehow something to do with the timeshift problems....

Anyway, if i can do some more testing for you please ask (or send me an e-mail).

Some feedback for you, though a limited test on my part.

Loaded up SVN 15045 and configured to use the new filter.

After a reboot and selecting TV MP selected BBC HD (last channel I was watching) - the result was a brief 1/2-1sec of sound and a blank screen and total silance.

The logs for this are attached - but even when not using the new filter BBC HD is still unwatchable being very jumpy with out of sync sound - last version that worked ok was 15008, went wrong at 15019

SD channels seem ok...but only a very quick look.

If you need any more info let me know

    Trevor

    Small thing:

Please make sure you use latest svns of both MP + tv3 (15051 or higher)

Also please note that the filter is only used for playing back tv/recorded tv
It has nothing todo with pmt errors or other problems;-)

Just tried the same again with 15052 and results the same with h.264 stream (BBC HD). Also SD channels via DVD-S only provide sound giving either a black pic or a still of the show.

On the h.264 front a quick check with graphedt show 2 graphs created but they use my Nivida codec instead on the Cyberlink, which is the one I have configured.

On SD channels via DVB-S 4 graphs are created - 1 & 2 are blank, 3 & 4 look ok, both using Nvidia codecs as configued and as I said sound but no picture.

SD Channels via my PVR-500 (SVHS input fed bt Sky STB's) I get the same jumpy and out of sync sound that I get on H.264 channels from without filter, and again 4 graphs are created as above.

Also trying to exit MP or stop TV results in MP locking up and having to be killed by task manager!

I have not started from scratch just applied the lastest SVN's over the top of a working installation.

Logs for SD channels using new filter from DVBS and Analog attached.

Can I just clarify that at the moment this works on single seat installation only and that single seat installation is TV3 + MP on the same machine and that I can not test this if I have TV3 & MP on different machines

    Thanks
