I'll give this a try.
My case has no HDD light indicator, which is usually a good thing (I don't like flickering lights in my living room, I really HATE my GB switch which is permanently flickering on all ports to indicate that some data is being sent...what a nonsense, and not able to deactivate. I am just waiting for it to fail to replace it).
I had Samsung magician perform a test, firmware is up to date and SMART does not show any suspicious parameters. But I had a SSD failing with a firmware bug (old crucial m4 with a freezing bug after >5000h of total uptime) in my desktop PC once, this felt very similar. I am just wondering why it usually only happens when I use grpahic extensive applications....but to narrow it down Ill run a full disk test in the next days. Just need to find some time, it's rare at the moment...
