Help Will NOT play channels (1 Viewer)

Hi Everyone

I am brand spanking new to this program and I must say I really like it.

I have scanned / tuned all the channels and can preview them no problem. But when I go into the client itself and click on mytv nothing displays, and what I mean is:

No channels to select or view
No EPG data
No real option to change channels

I am using the most stable version that was recommended to download off of this site.

Tuner card: ATI Theatrix Pro 650

I have tried a couple of other programs and some work and some dont:

Beyond TV - works great
PowerCinema - works great but can't record


This program is for me, I like the look and feel.

really not sure what I am doing wrong in the setup.

Can you please help.

Hi, and welcome

It kinda sounds like TV-server is not running, or there is some conection problems. Does starting MP take a lot of time?

As nobody has a crystal ball that actually works, could you please post your log files?

There is an issue with MP's connection to SQLserver. Check your tvserver_error.log

Ok. I looked at it, but I have no idea what I am looking at.

I do see things that have failed but what do I do? I have never used sql server before. I downloaded it and installed. When I setup MP, it tested the connection to the sql and it said it was good.

Is there something that I need to do in the sql to make them talk?

Sorry for such stupid questions, but I have never worked with this software before.

Hi Again;

So I re installed MP and now have it to the point where I get sound, but no picture. SQL database does not automatically start up for some reason.

What I get for a picture is a green strip in the centre of the "tv screen"

Any ideas anyone?
