Help with Card Detection (1 Viewer)

Hello!

I've been searching over this forum a solution to my problem but I couldn't find anything.

I have a PINNACLE PCTV PRO 110i and, it isn't recognized by Media Portal. What I found on the forum is a ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS to get this card working...and, beliave me, I've tried everything.

Last night, I catch GRAPHEDIT, my last try. So, I followed all the steps, but, no success. I selected all the necessary filters...but, the BDA SOURCE FILTERS is EMPTY, so, didn't worked.....

So, could anyone help me getting this card working ? I have a lot of 3rd party MPEG2 filters, such as NVIDIA PUREVIDEO, INTERVIDEO, POWERVIDEO etc etc...But any of this work because my card is not detected.

If anyone could help me, I'll be appreciated.

Have you tried the TVE3-server ? or are you using only MP ?

TVE3-server will in time.. replace the TVE2 engine that is currently part of MP. And has a very different way of building the graph. (Building a graph is connecting the right hardware and software components together to be able to view/record TV)

So if you haven't already tried TVE3-server please do so. It has several advantages even in a singleseat setup above using MP only to view and record TV.

Have you looked at the log file why it fails, and could you attach them ?
C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Log\
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MediaPortal TV Server\log\

I installed TV SERVER and nothing happens...oh, 1 thing happen, the TELEVISON/CAPTURE CARD configuration, over MEDIA PORTAL SETTINGS do not allow me to change anything (its all gray).

Abou the Log, which one you need ? I'll post the 3 logs that I found: Error, Configuration and Media Portal

Any ideia to get this Tv Card working ?

For information about installing and configuring the TVE3-server look here : WIKI

Make sure you have installed everything: SQLserver + TVServer & MP + SVN + TVPlugin
Looking at the logs i think you didnt update MP to the newest SVN version before installing the TVPlugin.

Have you seen the screens that are displayed in this part of the wiki :

I installed the last SVN build and everything and didn't work.
Its a shame, because I really want to use Media Portal....but I tried everything and, no tv card.

please elaborate a bit more on what doesn't work. its hard to say something useful with so little information..

- Does the TVserver detect your card at all? have you installed all newest drivers?
- Does scanning for channels work ? if not dont stop here..
- Can you add a channel manually ?
- Can you start timeshifting from the "manual control" page in the TVserver configuration ?

If not post log files of the tvserver you can find em by pressing the logfiles button in the tvserver configuration program.

Other approach : GraphEdit,
Is your card a BDA card ? if no, then its right that there are no filters available in the BDA section.
Look under the following sections or whatever they are called in english/your language..
-TV/Audio-devices for WDM streaming
-TV/Tuner-devices for WDM streaming
-Video Capture Sources
-WDM streaming-recordingdevices
- might be there are other sections to that can contain capture devices..

if you cant build a graph in graphedit then TVserver wont be able to do it either.. yes i know its hard to find the right filters manually..

First of all, I have the newest SVN BUILDS installed...MP and TV SERVER.
Without TV SERVER, my Pinnacle PCTV PRO PCI card is not detected..
With TV SERVER installed, the option TELEVISON/CAPTURE CARD over MP do not allow me to change anything.

Other thing is that, when I installed TV SERVER, it gives me a error(2869), so, I could only install TV SERVER CLIENT.

What I would like to know is HOW TV SERVER will detect my card ? is it another program with different drivers ? Cause, I don't think it will solve my problem...I just want to MPdetect my TV CAPTURE CARD.

I saw, over this forum, users that has this same TV TUNER CARD to work perfectly over MP, and, they didn't have TV SERVER.

So, what can I do now ?

It is installed as a windows service and works with almost all BDA devices, it allows you to record without MP running and at this moment is very stable.

You are using Vista hence the 2869 error, search "2869" and you will get your answer.

Well, I installed TV SERVER with success. But, my capture card wasn't detected..

So, what to do now ?
ANY idea ? modify capturecardefinitions, drivers, wait......???

-try a few things out and do a little searching on forums/internet.
-answer questions asked as complete as possible
-find the capture card filters in graphedit (or connect to the graph of a other TVprogram that already shows TV for you)
-post logfiles

or wait a year and hope someone else solves your problem.. a high number of question marks in a single question wont get you more help..

modifying capturecardefinitions will work for MP only, without the tvserver/plugin. the tvserver doesnt use card definitions but finds em itself normally..

so reinstall MP+SVN without tvserver/plugin and modify the capture card definitions till it works.. you still will need to know what filters you need to use then tho..
