I would like to get 2 TV tuners to watch and record analog and OTA or QAM HD. I had 2 Avermedia M780 cards but they do not work with Mediaportal and windows vista. Can someone recommend a card that will work with windows vista?

What cards is everyone using and how do you like them.

    Hi,
I wouldn't say they are dead!!!!

Anyway, I am using two Hauppauge cards. A novatT-500, which is twin digital, and a Hauppauge S2 for the satellite HD stuff etc.
They work well but there are a couple of niggles. They don't work well with more than a certain amount of ram installed on VISTA 64. It is known about on the Hauppauge forums and they dont seem to want to do anything about it.
Therefore I am going to remove two 1Gb sticks of ram and downgrade to 2 x 1Gb to see if it helps.

I can only comment on the above cards as they have been very good so far, just the small issues with VISTA 64.

    Regards

    Kev

I have a HVR-1250 for clear QAM over cable and it works fine. The analog is non-hardware so it is pretty crap. I use it as an alternative to my PVR-150. Set-up was fine except I had to manually go through 100's of channels to find which ones are encrypted. This https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/hardware-selection-help-62/hauppauge-hvr-1250-a-52057/ is a good thread detailing the set-up of the card and what you can expect from it. If you have the money the HVR-2250 has hardware encoding and dual tuners built into a single card.
