Help with WebEPG (1 Viewer)

I'm new to the product and the forum...so I'm hoping someone will point me in the right direction.

I just installed MP (latest version) but can't figure out how to get the WebEPG loaded into MP.

I read the online manual, some wiki pages and several posts in this and the newcomer forums but the information is either outdated or I'm doing something wrong. So I could really use someone's help!

For instance, in the online manual on WebEPG setup it shows that there's a WebEPG plugin in TV Server Config. But when I launch TV Server Config, that plugin is not there. All I get is the TV Movie EPG import plugin. I checked in MP Config and the WebEPG grabber is "enabled."

How do I get that plugin to show up in TV SG?

WebEPG is a TV Server plugin since version 1.1.0 (which is in RC phase at the moment). The wiki refers to this version.

In the latest stable version, 1.0.2, WebEPG is an MP plugin. There are several guides in the forums. You can also follow this guide but please do not download the suggested file, it is outdated.

There is no need to download any file. All you need is included in the installation of MediaPortal v1.0.2

That's great, arion_p, but I started this post by saying that the WebEPG plugin was not present in 1.0.2 when I installed it. No kidding. So it this point I'm dead in the water cuz I don't know how to get the plugin to show up and I haven't found anything on the MP site that addresses that problem.

Anyway, in v1.0.2 there is no WebEPG plugin in TV Server. In 1.0.2 WebEPG is a standalone application (called WebEPG.exe in MediaPortal's application folder) and it is configured using another standalone application WebEPG-config.exe. There is a WebEPG plugin in MP Config but it only allows you to schedule when to run WebEPG standalone app.

In short:

1. Run WebEPG-Config to configure WebEPG and map grabbers to channels. Whenever WebEPG runs it will grab EPG data for the configured channels and output a tvguide.xml file.
2. Run WebEPG once to verify it works and output the tvguide.xml file.
3. Configure XmlTV Import plugin in TV Server to import the above tvguide.xml file (whenever it changes).
4. Configure WebEPG Scheduler plugin in MP Config to run WebEPG at the times you choose.

Please post your full logs, so we can see what went wrong. Also include your tvguide.xml and WebEPG.xml.

Ok, I started mp debug-mode and reproduced the problem in WebEPG-config. Attached is the zip file output of debug-mode. The site wouldn't let me upload the tvgide.xml because of the storage limitation. I will try adding another post and uploading it there.

There is no WebEPG.xml file anywhere.
