My brother is getting his house refurbished, as its a old house, and while he is getting it refurbished he has asked me to install a media centre
now i am in it myself, i run my own company thou most of my work is making websites etc i have never actually gotten around to doing a media centre
he wants to try and minimized the impact on electricity, so he wants to have a single pc if possible do all the work
he wants to stick it inside his work office in the garage where he can use it for cad, and then have it networked to all the rooms, so that in each room his kids, and wife can watch the tv shows movies, music stored on it
and watch iplayer and 4od thru it
of course they all have diffrent tastes
so i was wondering how hard is this, now because he is doing cad work it will of course be a intel i7 system with 8gb to 12gb of memory and a hardy graphics card, and he wants a good audio setup
now i told him he would likely need to have two computers one to be the server and one strictly for cad
and i also told him i was not sure how you would play music and movies in other rooms without having a computer in each of the other rooms, perhaps he could get away with using 3 of his xbox 360s 1 for himself and 2 for the kids
input and advice would be appreciated
