How do you name a file so that it's guaranteed to be picked up by the automatic import? Can you use thetvdb.com to determine what the name should be?

For me worked for example "Prison Break S03E04" without problems. But I'm sure there are more possibilities like "Smallville.1x05".

My problem is that the import doesn't work sometimes, forcing me to manually add each file. Special episodes in particular are not recognized. For example "Bender's Game" is a special episode of the show "Futurama", but none of the following works:

Futurama - Bender's Game.avi
Futurama - 5 - Bender's Game.avi
Futurama - Special - Bender's Game.avi
Bender's Game.avi

Update: specials must be labeled season zero, apparently. But not all names will work. Below are my findings:

Working names:
Futurama s00e01 Bender's Big Score
Futurama s0e01 Bender's Big Score
Futurama 0x01 Bender's Big Score

Non-working names:
Futurama 0x1 Bender's Big Score
Futurama 00x1 Bender's Big Score
Futurama s0e1 Bender's Big Score

This is probably a shortcoming of the default regular expressions.

According to Wikipedia, Windows only uses code pages other than UTF-8 to support legacy (mostly 32 bit) applications and supports two code pages in addition to UTF-8 (OEM and ANSI). According to Microsoft, UTF-8 has been the preferred character set since 2019. If TV Server (or its import routine) were using UTF-8, then umlauts...

I used to use the grabber but a few years back it disappeared on FreeSat DVBS. That is when I changed to EPG Collector. The extra benefit is that it collects from the Sky platform so it will give EPG for all the FreeSat channels plus the unencrypted movie channels on the Sky platform. It also allows me to pick the channels dedicated...

This is for the tvserver, the iptv part. It used to only support m3u files containing all the channels, but now you can use a m3u8 too. Usually you get an m3u8 from your iptv provider, but there are also some that can be found on the internet
