Im running Vista Ultimate (yes legal) and have a MCE remote.

When pressing the green start button, Media portal starts, but also Media Center.
I have no idea where I can disable this, registry or ini file?

Also, up and down buttons are only working after starting guide or so, because there is no focus on Media Portal, I read some about it, but been unable to download a fix.

Im new here, but installed MP a few days ago, with some plugins, and loving it!!
Its way WAY better than Media Center.. if I may say...:p

    Hi

I have not used Vista yet, but surely there should be something similar to "Services" as in XP. Make sure you disable all MCE services, which should fix MP not getting the focus, as well as MCE starting up when you hit the ‘Green’ button.

    Cheers

    Thanks,

Disabled all media center services, that was my first guess and already did that.
Suprisingly that didnt prevent MC to start also....

Local policy, didnt think of that, and works!!

After a reboot the media center didnt start up anymore, great advice!!!

Now I need to find a way to get the focus on media portal, that still doenst work, and the mousepointer stays visable in the middle of the screen.

When those are taken care of, media portal is perfect...

    thx!

*EDIT... sorry me noob and blind i guess, didnt see the "hide mouse cursor in config :)"
