    Hi all,

When viewing TV you can (using a mouse) right-click and choose TV Guide (or was it EPG?) and a transparent EPG is displayed, overlaying the fullscreen TV.
Is there anyway to map this feature to a button? I'd like to map to the EPG button on my MS Remote so the transparent EPG is displayed whenever live TV is fullscreen, otherwise the default EPG will be displayed (as is the normal behaviour).

Thanks in advance for any help,

Sure, you can change the mapping and conditions of your remote here:
    mapping.png

Then you can make two conditions, one that kicks in when you run fullscreen-tv and goes to guide, and one that sends you back to fullscreen-tv.

Now, I'm not sure what the transparent guide is called in the mapping, so maybe someone else can answer (or you can do some trial and error!).

    Thanks for the reply Pilehave,
I have already done a mapping that runs a macro. The macro right-clicks twice and then presses "1", which works but is a little flaky/unreliable and slower then directly going to the screen.
The problem is that there doesn't seem to be a way to go directly to the screen. If I could find out what it's called then my problem would be solved. :)
    Thanks very much anyway,

    *bump*

Does no-one know the name of the Transparent EPG (so it can mapped to a remote's button)?

    Thanks,

I don't know, but a better question is "why isn't this the default" view of TV guide... it is much awesomer.

    Maybe it's a per-skin thing?

Yeah, that's true, it should be default or at least a tickbox or something to optionally make it the default.

I hope you get a solution to this as its always been something i'd like to see to, using guide on the remote always brings me to the standard guide screen rather than the transparent one.

I could supply the AutoIT macro I wrote that displays the transparent guide, if anyone is interested?
It is a little slow as it has to wait for each keystroke to execute before continuing, that is it right-clicks twice (if using mouse or whatever the equivalent command is on my M$ Remote, sorry, forgot the button's name) and then it presses '1'.
You just map this macro to your remote button against "TV Fullscreen".
So whilst this works, it's not as elegant as simply going to the screen directly but I am happy to supply this 'cludge' as a workaround for the moment.

I run two monitors on my system the main monitor for the computer then the widescreen tv for the htpc stuff... it lets me see the window names on the taskbar on my main screen....

the regular EPG shows up as TV/Guide on the taskbar when its selected .... but when you do the right click and get the transparent guide it shows up as TV guide..... looking through the keymaps it doesnt seem to have a way to select which tv guide window anywhere they only seem to have the option linked to the TV/Guide.......

I wonder if there is a XML file or dll we could edit that would add that into the drop down lists for the mappings???

Edit: it seems there has been posts about this as far back as 2006.... and they still have not privided a solution
