how do I remove the word "Video" from the main menu (1 Viewer)

Hi folks,

I would like to know how can I remove "Video" description, from the main menu.
I am currently using the plugin "Moving Pictures" and have
found out, that is nothing in the "Video" menu.

I would also like to know for what I need the "video menu" when
i use "Moving pictures" respectively the "Movie" menu.

At this time i think it is needless, when i do not use the pulgin Video.


Sorry for this banal question, but I'm still in test phase, so I have currently
no experience.

Home video's is mainly what I use it for, but then they supply a nice editor for you to make your own home screen, so you can show what you want.

Go into MediaPortal configuration, enter plugin section and disable 'Videos' plugin.

As far as your 2nd question: MyVideos was the first Video section in MediaPortal. MovingPictures is a plugin which isn't part of the standard MediaPortal program but i think most people use MovingPictures now because of the many options it has over MyVideos.

Edit 1 I just use "Moving pictures", MP-TV Series, TV, Musik, Home and Fanart Handler at this time

CandyAndy, just use the StreamedMP Editor to remove any menu items you dont want to use.

There is a shortcut available on the desktop.

Isn't the easiest option to disable the video plugin or move it to the 'My plugins' section?

When using your system as well to record and have your movie collection, the videos section is useful for recordings/'temporary' video stuff whereas the Moving Pictures plugin is more suited for a movie collection - at least, that's the way I use it and I think it makes sense like this.
