Having discovered I could use MP a few weeks ago I must say how pleased I am with it.

I have wintv-Nova-T-500 and Hauppauge remote 45 button A415-HPG-WE-A. I am trying to turn MP on using the remote (it has no Green button as in the guide), I`ve looked on the forums etc but cannot see a solution, I dabbled with the mapping but I can`t figure out how to do it.

I have the IR in the tray and MP icons on the desktop, most if not all functions work when I open MP using my mouse on the PC, I can then use the remote to control MP, apart from full screen.

I am running XP Pro SP3, (not HTPC) just a simple PC..

If anybody can point me in the right direction I will be very grateful

afaik this remote is connected to your Hauppauge PCI card. As hauppauge IR controller has no power during standby - it is impossible to switch on your PC with this remote.
It is possible with many USB-attached remotes.
if you still want to use your hauppauge remote - then tell us what exactly doesn't work, as i had this remote and all functions worked in fullscreen. Even starting of MP is possible with green power button

Vasilich, Thanks for the reply, I don`t want to switch on my PC with the remote.

I want to be able to start MP, this is when my PC is up and running.

When I press the green power button nothing happens.

Everything on the remote seems to work once MP is started.

EDIT: Hey, that's funny, we answered simultaniously.

You need to be running the MPTray app - add it tot your startup folder (I think it's in the MP folder in the start menu)
It's setup to hijack the green button and start MP one it's running.

Thanks for that SudR, just put it in yesterday, it took some getting to work, documentation is great for the initiated, but I had to put in other software (don`t know if it was all necessary) HIP, messageplugin ( https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...65/where-can-i-download-message-plugin-87886/) which took some finding as it isn`t in the plugin section.

also close the Haup IR in the tray or it over rides eventghost.
