How do the "External Player" plugins work? (1 Viewer)

    Can somebody explain how the External Player plugins work? I tried enabling the Winamp External Player plugin, but the only change is that nothing happens when I open a music file in MP... (I do have Winamp installed.)

    I could not find any documentation on them anywhere...
