Hello all,
Just trying to understand how TV Server works. TV Server is currently not detecting my cards. My TV Logs says it's trying to detect a SkyStar 2 card and does this at least 5 tries until it stops. Now I don't have that DVB card, I have a Twinhan 1020a DVB-S card and a Fusion 5 ATSC card. My question is this, does the TV Server use capture card definitions file or does it use something else to determine what cards you have installed? I have confirmed that the captured card definitions file has the correct entries for both my tuner cards, but that file is located under MediaPortal folder and not sure if TV Server even uses that.

Thanks in advance,

Aud

P.S. - will upload logs when I get off work.

Hi audball,
Few questions/suggestions:
1. What drivers you have installed for 1020? WDM or BDA? I assume TVServer is looking for BDA drivers.
2. Did you try to use both your cards with different software and which one?
3. Did you try to remove one of the cards and test with MP the remaining one?

Fromaron,
Both cards using BDA drivers. Fusion works with the latest software from Dvico and GBPVR. The 1020 card works with GBPVR as well. I actually removed both cards and I've tried removing both tuner cards and yet I still see in the logs that TVServer is detecting a Skystar 2 card.

Attached are my logs....

Thanks for your help.

I uninstalled TV Server and the regular TV engine could see my tuner cards plus the mysterious Skystar 2 card. It gives a "unable to build graph error". But I was able to scan my ATSC channels on my Fusion card. Maybe if I can figure out how TV Server checks the Tuner cards and delete any entries for Skystar 2, I can get this to work. Is there a capture card definitions file for TV Server specifically?

Ok, let me try uninstalling the BDA driver for my twinhan card and pull the card out. Hopefully TV server will not get confused and detect my ATSC tuner at least.

Uninstalled my BDA drivers for Twinhad DVB-S, rebooted.
Installed MP Server with latest SVN and MySQL, rebooted
Ran TV Server Setup, no cards detected.
TV Logs show server is still trying to initialize Skystar 2 card 5 times, which I don't have.....
OK I'm ready to throw the towel.
I will try to reinstall MP once new version is released or reformat my whole computer and start from scratch (not going to happen any time soon)...

I have a similar problem...

I've spent enough hours, so I might post about it....

I have the Hauppauge HVR-2200.

I just upgraded (full uninstall / reinstall) from 1.0.0 RC3, which I've been running happily for 6 months or so.

TV Server wont detect my card :(.

I've searched forums, tried multiple re-installs... now I'm giving up, and hoping my system restore takes me back to being able to watch tv again.
