I'm new on MediaPortal and installed a PC with a Hauppage HVR1300 card for analog cable tv.
I have installed in a second PC the client - but if I try to use both PC to use different tv channels I get the information "no free tv card"!
Do I need for each PC a tv card? Or whats wrong on the installation or configuration?

Thanks for any sugestions

Yes, the card can only receive one channel at a time, so if you have two clients and want to watch two different channels, you will need two cards.

    Hi.
Do I need for each PC a tv card?
You need a tv card for each channel you want to watch and/or record at the same time. It did not matter if you watch different channels on different PC or record different channels on the same PC. You always need one tuner for one channel.

But this is true only on analogue cable. If you use DVB (no matter if it's DVB-S, DVB-C or DVB-T) you can watch and/or record all channels on the same transponder with a single tuner. This can be up to ten different channels which you can watch or record with a single tuner.

Or whats wrong on the installation or configuration?
Nothing as long as you are stacked on old fashioned analogue TV. On analouge TV you need at least 4 Tuners if you want to be independent on both of your PC and able to do some recordings at the same time.
