How much bandwith is needed between server and client? (1 Viewer)

Well topic says it all. If I want to be able to HDTV how much bandwith is needed between the server and the client? The reason I ask is that I'm probably getting fibre next summer, and I'm wondering if I get a 30/50 Mbit/s upstream could I connect to the sever through VPN and watch liveTV like I can at home? (I'll also need good downspeed on the other network)

Well, I've noticed that an hour of recorded HD TV i.e. the .ts file is about 8Gb. So 8Gb / hour, 137 mbytes a minute, etc...

Thanks, if my math is correct (137*8/60) it should be about 18Mbit/s then, so a 30 Mbit line should be able to do the job aslong as the rest of the pipes are big enough.
