Hi,
I just discovered that software and so far I'm totally charmed by it. Really nice work!!

However, I have a little issue with it. I'm using a MSI video card based on the GeForce 7900GT chipset with VIVO. So I can get a TV-In with S-Video or Composite. I'm using the lastest WDM driver for the GeForce 7 serie for the capture. I'm able to get TV and record it with almost all software I tried so far, but I'm unable with MediaPortal, getting the "Cannot create graph for this device".

I found a tutorial about how to create a graph for a card that is not in the list, but it is specific for TV Tuner card I think.

In my case, using a TV Tuner is useless since I'm getting TV signal from a decoder box (Illico) from my provider which support only Component, Composite and S-Video output. Since no Component input card exist so far, and that I don't have the analog signal on my coax cable, I'm left to use only the S-Video out from my decoder box and record with a S-Video in. Before, I was using my VHS but I want to replace it with my HTPC.

Now, I guess I'm not the only one in this situation since both nVidia and ATI are doing video cards with VIVO support.

So, how could i make my card supported by MediaPortal? Anybody else had this issue and found a way to fix it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated there.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Martin

You will need a mpeg2 encoder installed. Since a VIVO input, the card manufacturer probably wont supply you with one so you might have to look at WinDVR.

Thanks...this seem to have fixed the problem. ;) Quite simple when you know what to do! :p

However, the software is not really stable for the TV. My system should be ok enough. It's a AMD Atlhon XP 64 3000+ with 2Gb of RAM and a 250gb HD, connected on a 57H84C Toshiba rear projection HDTV.

First of all, i have to start the software in Windowed mode if I want to be able to set the Aspect Ratio correctly and then switch to Full Screen. I've read some other thread on the forum with other users having the same issue.

Also, I don't get the TV all the time and when I record it, most of the time the sound is corrupted. But I guess this is just a setting issue. I was using another software as well as WinDVR without any problems. Anyway, since MP is only at version 0.2, I guess there's plenty of fixes to come until version 1.0 ;)

Anyway, keep up the great work on the software! I'll see if I could give an help as well.
