How to configure imon pad & MP if MP uses an external player?? (1 Viewer)

Hi!

I've read and tried seeeeveral configs of imon pad and MP, but no one worked if MP uses an external player (Media Player Classic-HomeCinema).

-I can configure imon pad to work with MPC-HC (no MP, just MPC)
-I can configure imon pad to work with MP (no external player)

I think the problem is that the remote "sends" the command to MP in any case, so MPC-HC do not receive any signal. It seems that imon software can't see MPC-HC if it is called by MP.

Does anyone have an idea of how to solve this??

configure different mappings for mp and mpc in imon software (programs, I think...)

when your external player is the active window, it should catch the ir commands.

Although MPC is the active window, when a remote key is pressed, MP steals the focus and it does nothing as it is not playing anything (MPC is)!

It seems that MP is hiding MPC or something like that

did you configure mp and mpc as programs in imon software? with special mapping for each program?
did you check "keep mp always on top" in mp-conf?

I configured MP and MPC with different mappings, but i have to check if any key is the same in both.

MP is NOT always on top. In fact, when a key is pressed, MPC exits full screen and MP gets on top. If i configure MPC to stay always on top: when a key is pressed MPC exists full screen, it keeps on top but MP gets the focus and it does nothing

quick and dirty solution would be to close mp via remote and start mpc with the imon-app starter. but that's not very elegant...

double mapping indeed could be a problem...

did you check the "exclusive mode" in imon? I never understood what exactly it does, but maybe this could be the problem.

Haven't seen any "exclusive mode", but it sounds interesting... I'll look for it, maybe it will make it works.

Also, i'll check the double mapping... btw i can remove the entire mapping of MP since, the navigation works fine, and that's all I need.

"exclusive mode" should be in the app starter thing, I guess.
perhaps it is no longer there in the new imon-version.

did you check the "exclusive mode" in imon? I never understood what exactly it does, but maybe this could be the problem.

I removed any mapping for MP, leaving only MPC, remove the "exclusive mode" and problem fixed!! Now it works flawlessly
