how to create custom display/selection list for videos? (1 Viewer)

I would like to setup a "custom" display of my Video files, and follow with a similar custom display of my Audio files.
the first screen shows categories
the second screen (if needed) would show sub-categories
the third screen would show the individual fiels to choose from

I would select for example "MOVIES" then "DRAMA" then "THE USUAL SUPECTS"

as shown each selection upto the file itself will allow for either a specific image, or if none then a defaukt image can be displayed

any ideas, examples, or plug-ins to allow me to do this? any and all suggestions and help welcome.

Hi,

hmmm difficult. I fear, that is not possible with MP. You can create your own views in Configure->Movies->Views, but MP does not have something like "subgenre". You may take a look into this feature, maybe you can find a setting that suits your needs.

actually I think I have it figured out myself. as I have all my files stored already, in the structure
MOVIES (dir)
--- DRAMA (sub-dir)
--- SCI-FI (sub-dir)
--- HORROR (sub-dir)
------ SAW (file in subdir)
------ CHAINSAW MASSACRE (file in subdir)

I just placed a pic file folder.jpg in each dir / sub-dir and set the MP Display type as "LARGE ICON" (whatever the name was) and it works out as I needed.
