Hi all,
and hi to the creator of this fantastic plugin.

It works great for all my series files on Hard disk (be it AVI or ripped episodes from DVDs).

Now I have series on DVD that I bought some time ago, already watched, but would like to be able to have them in myTV Series without ripping first becaus eI'm getting short on hard disk space.
It si more like having these episodes described in my TV Series and being able to select one, insert the DVD and watch it.

All my DVD are numbered. Basically, I would like to select for example Lost Season 1 episode 2 in myTVseries, then it would ask me to insert DVD n° 100, and upon insertion it would automagically play the correct VOBS that correspond to episode 2.

Until now, i tried through the option "removable", through manual episode importer, but no way. The best I could dod was to have the DVD started, but at root menu level, ane I had tyo manuallly select the episode on the DVD, as if I had inserted the DVD right away.

I can see th edifficulty here, since the DVD structure does not mention the name of the series, but only the usuql VIDEO_TS folder.
How could I do this ?

Many thanks for your help

Hi Inker,

I was in some of these "many times before" discussions, and I think I read the ones I didn't participate in. Yet, I don't recall anything came out about this particular problem (I may be wrong though). As far as I know, a good solution was provided for dealing with DVD structures once ripped episode by episode, which I'm now using and works great, but I have never seen anything about dealing with series on DVD without having to rip first, which might not be possible after all. Hence my question.

Now, having been on this forum and others for years, I am used to using the search function extensively before asking anything, and I usually try to avoid bothering people with stupid questions.
So allow me to find your answer a bit on the harsh and easy side. Of course, the answer I'm looking for may exist somewhere, but I didn't find it.

Thanks.

Well, I'm sorry you find my answer rude, I was merely trying to point out why probably nobody felt the need to answer yet.

I still believe your question would fit perfectly in the other discussion, and probably you would have found the answer that it's not possible. But maybe somebody has an idea now that they didn't have in the other thread.

    Ok,

No big deal, tihs wasn't "rude", just a bit surprising. I may have taken it a bit too personal too I guess

Well, If it's not possible, I'll leave unripped DVD series to be handled by the My Films plugins and will use the great TV-series plugin for ripped series only.

Thanks Inker anyway for having answered my post.

My tv-series is still one of the best plugins to use.

    Thanks gakkethijs,

But my point is to avoid ripping for series I already watched. I just want to be able to reference them in my TV-series, with episodes description and all. If ever I want to watch one of these episodes on DVD, I expect th esoftware to ask me to insert the correct DVD and it will play the correct episode directly.

This works great for Divx episodes on DVD, but won't work for original DVD episodes.
Ripping is no problem, I do it for all new series I buy on DVD, but I don't want to leave them on the Hard disk once I watched them for obvious disk space issues.

Anyway, thanks for the answers and suggestions :)
