Hello, I am brand new to MediaPortal. I understand MediaPortal will store my recordings into a SQL database.

Questions:
1.) If my disk drive runs out of room, how can I move my SQL database and tell MediaPortal where it is? If I were using SQL 2000 I would just detach and then attach my database. (I am reasonably conversant with SQL server)

2.) I would like to save some recordings to a file. How do I export a recording to an Mpeg or avi file?

I have looked through the forums to try to find answers but didn't find any. If there are links which answer these questions please tell me the links and I will use them.

Thank you for your help.

    Hi there and welcome :)

The recordings itself are stored on disc. You can configure locations in TVServer Setup.

It is created as ts files which should be usable in almost all proper videos applications.
If you want to save space, try MCEBuddy as a standalone app, outside MP.

    NJOY :D
