Ok, so I just tried media portal and it seems great to me, but there's a problem. I cannot get the show names on channels. I can watch the channels fine, but I can't figure out what's playing...

Could someone give me help?

I tried to follow instructions on http://mediaportal.wikispaces.com/Setting+up+WebEPG, but I cant find the webEPG-config.exe file.... Any help please?

Try mc2xml. It's free and works well. Scroll down to the section called "How would I use mc2xml with MediaPortal?" for detailed instructions.

Wow seems like a lot of work to get a guide, I can't even get channels to work with my tuner. Media Center works perfect so I guess I will just keep using it. Gets all my channels and guide, with a click of a mouse.

Will Media Portal ever get a better TV Program? Seems like a lot of tasks just to get your channels to work.

You are looking at the wrong spot, WebEPG has been moved to TV-Server. Pls read: MediaPortalSetup_WebEPG - MediaPortal Manual Documentation. Setup is straightforward and needed only once.

P.S.: Noted your W7 x64 setup. Can you fill in the codecs you are using, as I am having trouble with my W7 x64 installation and moved back to XP

If your TV-provider provides you with EPG in the DVB-stream you could always pull the data from there, just go to "DVB EPG" in TV Server Config.

I would suggest using SchedulesDirect... it's a fee service, but worth it.

Here's the very long forum: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...mexico-epg-plugin-updated-april-2010-a-26951/

Here's the latest download that includes the ability to add Season/Episode numbers to your guide data with thetvdb.com: mp-schedulesdirect - Project Hosting on Google Code

I second this...it is VERY EASY to use and setup...but it does cost $20 per year, worth it imo as it saves TONS of headache setting up the configs which are not always correct, at least ime. I Just upgraded to Win7 so I did a fresh install of MP1.1RC5, enabled the plug in, typed in my account credentials, named the stations as I selected them on SchedulesDirect.org, and told it to force update on restart of the TV service...bam done.

Hardest part here is getting all the logos for the stations so it looks pretty in MP...but thats not part of this plugin lol.

    Good luck
