How to import an interafce (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I am trying to import an COM interface (IffDecoder). that I want to use in media portal. I have access to the cpp header file that describes the interface, but that header file needs to be translated to C#. I remember long ago that you could get an interface descrption for a COM object imported, just by drop and drag an .dll to Visual Studio.

can't you just add a reference to the dll you want imported into your project?

I have tried that, but it is not really a dll, but a .ax (direct show filter?) file and the ide does not accept that.

Well, I think I need to get my hands dirty and do it manually...
