How to import two series with the same name, different year/network? (1 Viewer)

I have two separate conflicts, which i can't get TV series to import properly.

Doctor Who
Doctor Who (2005)
These are two separate series on thetvdb.com, and I have them in separate folders, but the import wizard lumps them both together.
Also:
Witchblade
Witchblade (2006)
(the first is live action, the second anime). The same problem here.

I also have battlestar galactica (2003), and worry that when i get the old version, I'll be faced with the same problem.

How can i get My TV series to identify these series properly?

    Doctor.Who.S01E01.avi
    Doctor.Who.(2005).S01E01.avi

so just add the reference to year in title to differentiate.

Re: How to import two series with the same name?

I have done that, and it does something really wrong.

Witchblade has 2 seasons each of 12 episodes.

I have one season of Witchblade (2006) with only 9 episodes.

In the database, it ends up with Witchblade (2006) having 2 copies of each episode (it takes the first 9 episodes from the earlier series, AND it's actual episodes).
The earlier witchblade has season one, ep10-12, and season 2 fine, but misses the first 9 episodes.

A similar thing happens with doctor who.

I have deleted them from the database, and made sure every file is named with a data (eg Witchblade (2000) v (Witchblade 2006), and still it happens).

How long does it take to update the data base? I deleted them from the database in the config tool, but they still show up in media portal?

Edit: the problem is evident in the very first step of scanning, as shown here:

Notice that the doctor who (not 2005) series starts at episode 14. Episodes 1-13 don't appear in the list at all.
But after importing, they are identified, but linked to the wrong series.

In Step 2 of the wizard do you link the correct series online to 'Doctor Who'?

I attached some screenshots for my test:

In that step 2, the first time I was only presented with one series as a choice, and all the episodes where lumped in with that.

I deleted them from the database, and renamed the files, and tried again, and got both series- but on that series selection screen, you don't get to choose which episode goes with which series, and on step 3, where you can link correctly identify episodes, I could see they were grouped with the wrong series.

It was weird. I have deleted my database completely and started from scratch, and this time it has worked.

Maybe I did something wrong during one of the earlier imports, but it is working now.

    Thanks.
