    Hi,

I am trying out MP 1 for the first time. I am super thrilled to see the server client setup work though there are a lot of things I still need to set up. With the help of members of this forum, I made a lot of progress. What has been hindering the progress has been the documentation. I am currently stuck with these two issues.

    1) How do I import the EPG from an XMLTV file?
    2) How do I change channels on the STB?

I have installed IR Server Suite and learned the IR codes of my STB using the Translator. When I use the test option while learning the STB codes, the STB changes the channels. How do I make MP blast those IR codes when I change the channels? I have already assigned the correct STB channel numbers to the channels in TV Server Configuration.

    Setup:
    OS: Vista Ultimate
    MP Version: Media Portal 1
    Tuner: Analog Tuner with Set-top-box
MP Install type: TV Server (not single seat or client)

    Thanks,
    Srikanth

    Hi there

    1. Did you enable the xmltv plugin in TVServer, supply the tvguide.xml and mapped all channels?
    2. What version of IRSS did you install?

BTW: Can you please update your System info in your user control panel and make it public.

    Hi,

I have now enabled the XMLTV Plugin in TVServer (I didn't know that I had to do that). I have added two channels in TVServer to start with. When I imported the tvguide.xml it has correctly recognized the 258 channels but did not import any programs. I clicked on the mapping tab in the XMTV plugin and got those two channels mapped.

How do I get the program guide updated with the program information in the tvguide.xml? Is there any way of adding TV channels other than adding one by one all the 258 channels manually. I was hoping by loading the tvguide.xml the channels would be automatically added to the TV Channels list and appear in the TV Guide. That did not happen.

When I have installed it the first time (same version of MP 1, but I do not remember the setup options), I found a separate TV server option for EPG import (not the plugin). When I imported the EPG it appeared in the Program Guide.

I am using the 1.0.4.1 version of IRSS.

I have also updated my public profile.

    Thanks,
    Srikanth

After going through this post (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...n-support-53/xmltv-import-does-nothing-38539/) I managed to get the programmes imported into the guide. I still have my two questions:

    1) Is there any way of adding TV Channels other than adding one by one all the channels manually?
    2) How do I make IRSS send channel numbers blast to the set-top-box?

    Thanks,
    Srikanth

Mapping must be done BEFORE the import. And: Maybe you forgot to press the SAVE button in mappings?

    Xmltv-Plugin, Mappings, Press "Load-Refresh"

That probably was the Sat-EPG which is provided by your TV-Card; setup in "General Settings", "EPG" and "TVChannels","TV EPG Grabber".

    Good luck

That only works for channels that have already been defined under TV Server Configuration | TV Channels. It does not import all the channels to TV Channels.

Where do I setup TV3 Blaster Plugin?

Obviously, yes. But I do not see your problem. Why would you want an EPG for channels you cannot watch as they are not defined in the TV Channels?

And: How would you map channels which are not defined?????

Please this thread (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/get-support-90/importing-channels-analog-stb-via-s-video-49034/). It is very similar to my situation.

I have an EPG in XMLTV format for 258 channels. I would think there is a way to import the channels list from the XMLTV format file. What is the point in entering manually all the 258 channels when they are already defined in the XMLTV format XML?

One can dismiss this as a one time set up issue. The problem in India is that we get about 3 channels added every month. Imagine doing this every time a new channel is added. Suppose, channels are already defined in the new XMLTV download file, then the channel would automatically appear in the program guide.

Anyway, can somebody please help me get the IR Blaster thing working? Do I have to install the TV3 Blaster Plugin? If so, should I also install the replacement MCE drivers?

    Thanks,
    Srikanth

I am using the 1.0.4.1 version of IRSS.

With that version, you also need the fixed file in post number 34 of the IRSS thread.

That also answer your question regarding TV3 Blaster.
    Nothing else should be required.

    Hi,

I have reinstalled IRSS stopped TV Service and copied the files in the zip file. After doing that when I start Input Service Configuration, I get the error "No Input Service Plugins Found" error.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks,
    Srikanth

    Hi skoka123

did you configure xmltv plugin and got the things working 100% for EPG? I am planning to do the same thing and since you are in almost same part of the world (india) and i am (UAE), we have the same channels and want to get the channel guide updates.

would you mind telling me if you are successfully running the EPG for all the channels you have? from where you are getting the channel guide updates or the xmltv is taking care of it?

    thanks in advance
