A questions to the MP cracks of you:

when I do install a CVS, is has to be put on a "clean Version". For example on "0.2 RC02".

Now: do I have to

- install the RC02, configure it and then put the CVS on top

or

- install the RC02, put the CVS on top and then configure it

    Hi,
I would have installed 0.2RC2, backed up the folder (as a clean Install).

Then you can configure 0.2RC2 (you could also backed up this as clean & configured) & apply CVS on top of it, sometimes you have to delete your TV card / database folder etc. but that’s how beta’s work.

If you run into trouble along the way just delete the contents in MP folder & copy the “clean install†to the folder again, so apply CVS & then configure MP.

If you really run into big, big problems just uninstall MP, delete MP folder & run a program like CCleaner (this will clean the registry for unmapped keys "http://www.ccleaner.com"). Install MP again + CVS & then configure.

    CVS's are found here: https://www.team-mediaportal.de/mediaportal-cvs-download.php

That’s the way I would do it.
    Regards
    Roy

So! Do now Darksides answer to questions of Special Ed's?

    - just kidding!!

I know how to do it in general (as I did it a hundred times). It is meant as a really sophisticated question to a dev or a mod.

I want to know if first to configure the RC and then to apply the CVS or first to apply the CVS and then to configure.

Or does that play no role?

minimum level for an answer: Special Ed++

    thanks+regards

    Hi,

    I am no special ed++ ;)

But it will be better to first apply the CVS to RC2 and then run Configure. This way you won't get old and maybe bad / faulty entries in mediaportal.xml and the databases.

    Flip.

That is a surpricing attitude towards someone who has gone through the trouble of giving you an extensive and perfectly valid answer to your question. Not very sophisticated at all... :(

to kamrat: yes it was very friendly and helpful from ronilse to give me that answer and I am thankful for that ... but it was not the answer to my question.

So in order to point out that I really wanted the very exact answer to my very exact question I did choose that - I agree a little uncommon - way of answering.

All of you who's sensibilities I offended may forgive me.
[okay - again irony - I can't help it - please forgive me again  ]

(thanks FlipGer, that is what I wanted to know)

    thanks+regards
