Hi,

FOr the holidays, I wanted to install the CHristmas 2006 skin. Unfortunately, when copying it to the skin directory, it doesn't show up in the configuration tool. Undoubtedly doing somethin wrong, but I don't know what!! Anybody, any thoughts??

The only thing that I can think might have gone wrong is that you created a double directory for the X-mas-2006 skin when you extracted it. Something like this "Team MediaPortal / MediaPortal / Skin / X-mas-2006 / X-mas-2006" which will cause the problem that you are getting.

    Cheers

So I read your manual, your FAQ and searched your forum. Then I decided that I could probably install a new skin by unpacking it into the skin folder. Still no luck. Nothing but the blue stuff shows up in the configuration dialogues. I suspect I need to edit some obscure xml file but I can't find any instructions. Are there instructions? Point me to them, please, or reiterate them here.

No, don't edit a single xml file. Just place the folder direct under you skin directory. You can try to make a copy of the BlueTwo folder default called "Copy of BlueTwo" by Windows, go to MP configuration and you will see that it works!

I had the same Problem, i started the configuration and only blue and blue wide were shown as installed skins. Even Copying the default skins like told above wasnt working.

Then i started the configuration.exe directly from the older it is installed at. It worked.

I then wondered if the shortcut on the desktop linked to another configuration.exe. Maybe i accidentially installed it twice ;)
But it didnt. It was linked to the same file i started directly out of folder.

I dont know what happend/s there but now it works for me.

I know this thread is old, but maybe someone has the same problem somewhen.

    I am using Windows7 RC
