As far as I know MP (1.0.2) has a buffer for live TV and I can rewind the TV for a certain time period.
My question, if I've seen something interesting on live TV and want to keep that small section of video, can I quicky stop the TV and save the buffer?

Thanks

You could just do a test and find out for yourself ..... from memory (I'm at work at the moment, not at home with my MediaPortal PC), when you stop Live TV it just keeps the last used timeshift file there, until you start Live TV again ..... although, I could be wrong - it may delete the files when you stop Live TV.

If it does delete the files, then the best bet would probably be to pause Live TV, copy off the timeshift files to an alternate location, then you could go through them later with some kind of media editing program later and snip out the bit you want. That's all I can think of off the top of my head ..... I don't think it's possible to get MediaPortal to specifically record stuff that's in the timeshift buffer (ie. already been broadcast) - eg. read this

Cheers,
Craig
