How to manually add a bluray movie and have MP check the good disk is inserted ? (1 Viewer)

Hi,

The feature of getting movie data for blurays when inserting them is great, but I have about 100 Bluray discs and I sure would like to include them in the MP database without having to insert them one by one and having them detected by MP.

So I tried to create them manually, which kinda works, but how can I then be sure that MP will ask for the correct disk when I want to watch a movie ? (i.e where does MP store the unique identifier of a given bluray disc and where can I input it manually)

For example, once a bluray has been automatically detected by MP and its metadata retrieved, if I want to watch this movie later on, Mp will ask me to insert the correct disc and complain if I insert another one.
How can I have this behaviour when I create bluray movies manually in the database ?

I am sure there must be another way but inserting all blurays one by one and waiting for MP to retrieve metadata for each (might take hours...)

Thanks a lot in advance for your help and advice

There is an enhancement planned to make manual adding of offline media easier, but aside from waiting, the easiest way to add those is to indeed insert them one at a time and let the automatic import do everything for you. That way you know the links in the database are all correct.

1-10 sec to insert, 1-10 sec for MovPic to detect and import, 1-10 sec to eject.

Rinse and repeat 100x, so we're talking about 3000 secs max, so in less then an hour your entire collection is added.

Well, thanks for the answer and the calculations :D

But it seems getting the metadata over the internet will be more like 30 seconds to 1 minute from my experience (sometimes even more)
which makes the process for a single disc 110 to 120 seconds, which makes it about 12000 seconds for 100 discs, ie 3hours something....Time in itself is not the biggest issue, but taking all discs out of the drawer, opening each box, inserting the disc, waiting for the process to end, putting the disc back in the box, and the box back in the drawer...What a pain in the you know what...

There might be a way to do this without inserting the discs. The only thing to know is what the disc identfication information is and where it is stored (maybe I can edit the database directly and try to find out myself).

Thanks anyway for your answer :)

    Cheers
