How to move movie files from one drive to another? (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I have just bought a new hard drive and want to move all my movie files to the new drive.

Is there a way so I don't have to re-scan?

It seems there is no "move" option in the file menu (using MP 1.0RC3).

In another thread I have read that it is only possible by updating the database directly. If so, could someone provide an update SQL script for exchanging the drive letter (e.g. from 'D:\Movies' to 'E:\Movies')?

Hi chimbochoc,

If I copied my recored films from my PC to my MediaCenter I copied it in the recoding directory and then opened the TVServer Configuration and there you can update your database with your new files, only one click, becuse the new films are already activated The only problem what I had is that the time stamp in MediaPortal is the time when you copied.
