I have the following problem:
My alphacrypt light CAM with firmware v1.16 (needed for my Smartcards) can only decode one scrambled channel at the time.
Therefore I set the CAM limit to 1.
However, if a second channel on the same transponder is selected on another client, the server wants to timshift both channels on the same tv-card, since they are on the same transponder.
Then the pictures on both clients get stucked and Mediaportal needs to be restarted on the clients.

I think the problem is, that once a scrambled channel gets decoded by the CAM, it appears in the "Manual control" screen as "Scrambled - no", then Mediaportal thinks, this CAM can descramble another channel, which is not correct!

How can I make MediaPortal to ALWAYS use a seperate tv-card for every channel, even if they are on the same transponder?
CAM limit = 1 does not work here.

edit: Same problem, if you record one channel and whatch another channel on the same transponder. Then the recording is broken.

Here is the server-log.
I recorded on channel.
Then viewed another channel on a different transponder.
On another client viewed another channel on the same transponder like on the other client.

Actually due to CAM-limit this should not be possible.
Instead, the first viewing stopped and the viewing on the second client was ok.

AW: How to not use same card for another channel on same transponder

i have the same problem, but according to several websites alphacrypt light should be able to decode more than 1 channel, or does only the classic support this?

i only have 1 tuner, cam limit set to 1 but it tries to decode more than 1 channels...

Yes, I also think alphacrypt light should decode more than one channel, but maybe it is also a matter of the tv-card, which only decodes 1 channel.
What firmware do you have on your alphacrypt light?

However, if I set the CAM-limit to 1, Mediaportal should not try to decode molre than one channel on one tv-card! So I really see this as a matter of MP.
The thing is, that in the mini-guide it correctly shows the not available channels, if all cards are used. Even the channels on the same transponder are marked in red correctly, according cam-limit 1, but if you switch to such a channel on the same transponder (marked in red) MP switches to this channel and tries to decode it. :(

alphacrypt CAN decode multiple channels (in my case up to 4, with DVB-C, see my specs)

Ok, than it seems to be a limitation of our receivers, that they can only decode one channel at a time.
However, MP does not respect the cam-limit set to 1, but tries to decode a channel on the same transponder with the same tv-card, which is not correct!

is there any receiver (except the firedtv) which can decode multiple channels? i thought the relabeled knc card could do this...

edit: i use for the record, but when i disable for the record, mp detects/respects the cam limit, only for the record ignores it...

edit: i use for the record said:
I don't understand that... What do you exactly do, that MP respects the cam limit?

i disabled the for the record plugin and set the cam limit at the tv server, then in mediaportal i start a timeshift and program a second channel on the same transponder to record, the recording doesn't start until the livestream is stopped. i think this is the correct behavior
