I don't know if anyone else notice this issue, maybe it's due to my wrong configuration, but anyway I'd like to share my experience and hopefully get some help here.
I have configured Moving picture to use external PowerDVD to play Blu-ray ISO, everything works fine. When I play an ISO, MP first uses VCD to mount the ISO (step1), then moving pic tries to get movie FPS and changes refresh rate based on FPS(step2), after that moving pic invokes PowerDVD to play the movie(step3). I assume this also works with a real blu-ray disc, but it doesn't. Here is what I observed:
1) When a BD was inserted, moving picture downloaded description, coverart and fanart from internet so that I can see the movie in movie list.
2) When I tried to play the movie, mediaportal was dead, and I had to manually kill the process in order to quit MP.
3) I then checked the log and it seems that step2 is not carried out.
I'm guessing this has something to do with copyright protection in a blu-ray disc. I assume MP uses mediainfo to retrieve FPS from the main content in the blu-ray disc, and this file is protected so it's not accessible from MP.
Does anyone else have seen this problem?
