Here I was kind of 'proud' that I have a near-perfect working MP setup that correctly passes all my audio, from WAV, MP3, to AC3 and DTS, out over coaxial S/PDIF to my receiver.
(Especially if you consider how many posts there are on this subject…)
I used to have AC3filter to pass the multi-channel AC3 and DTS untouched by the PC out over spdif to the receiver, but recently configured FFDshow to do this, so I switched AC3filter off for this task.
DVD’s and AVI’s can be played and listened to in the proper rich surround environment.
BUT…
I now stumbled on a DTS encoded music only recording (Abraxas by Sanatana if you care to know).
The CDAudio is actually a .bin file that I mount with Deamon tools.
In file manager this shows me a set of Tracknn.cda files.
I can (only) play these in my standalone PowerDVD player, and with it I hear music from all 5+ channels. Great!
All other players just produce noise in just two speakers.
Of course I also want to play this music in my cherished MP, but I do not know how to make this work.
My Movies does ONLY see this mounted disk as an AUDIO disk, so it will not play it.
My Music does open the mounted disk, labels the Tracks according to the pre-loaded cd info, but it will only play noise.
I do not know how to force FFDshow in the path, or if that will do the trick. AC3filter does also nothing if I enable it.
I use WMPlayer10 as my music player. The My Music config does not have an entry to enable the use of FFDshow, like all the other configs do.
Can anybody help me to set up MP to play DTS audio cd’s correctly?
