How to proceed - Version 1 or 2? (1 Viewer)

Hello,
shall I use V2 already? Or is it better to use V1? I browsed the Wiki but I am unclear what to do. I plan to have one PC with dual SAT receivers (in the office, where I have th cables to the antenna) and one PC in the living room, where I have the beamer. Is it possible to watch TV (and control the receivers) from the living room? I want to avoid to have the SAT cables in the living room, but I do have network there.

Am I right that I cannot play standard BR discs through the Mediaportal? I think I need PowerDVD - is there any integration, or does it run standalone?

I cannot play standard bluerays from within the software? Do I need another program, like Power DVD?

Yes, this is what MP is developed for. But this is only working in MP1 atm. You can simply watch TV with MP2 if you have an MP1 TV Server installed but you can't shedule recordings and so on from inside MP2 atm...

You can play BD from inside MP (1 or 2) but only if they don't have copy protection. If you want to play protected BD you need some 3th party software. One way is a software to remove CP like AnyDVD, the other is to use a commercial Program like PowerDVD. You can integrate PDVD in MP1 also it's a bit tricky so no need to run it standalone. With MP2 you need an AnyDVD alike solution if you want to play protected BD. Integrating of PDVD in MP2 is not possible atm.
