This seems like it should be pretty easy, but i am looking for an easy way to randomze all my music. Most of the time i just want to randomize my entire music selection, or grab a random subset of it. I tried addming the whole music folder to a playlist and it pretty much froze up. I created a playlist in WMP and saved it, but i don;t want to have to go to WMP and manually update a playlist when i have new additions. Plus playing that playlist - well, performance wasn't great. Any one currently doing this, or have some ideas?

Best way would be to use the audioscrobbler plugin.
it starts with one song and then adds randomly songs from your collection.

    Hello.

I've got all of my music added to the database and tend to play it from the Artist view. The way I play everything is to go to Artist view and rightclick on the first artist listed and choose "Add all to playlist" - this adds all music to the playlist, not just the artists that has been clicked on. After that I pop into the playlist and shuffle it, then choose the next song in the list.

Might not be the best way but it works for me at the moment.

Roo, sounds interesting, will check it out.

Although a 'shuffle all' option (or something along those lines) would be very handy!

I think i had tried this in the past, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. I even went to last.fm to create account thinking I needed to be online for it work. If i remember it randomizes in offline mode so you don't even need a username entered? I guess i'll have to play with it again because that would work.

This should be one of the most stable plugins you can find :D
The "offline mode" doesn't need an internet connection. However if you enter your credentials you can set further options for the random mode:
    - add only tracks you've marked "favorite"
    - add only tracks you've not listened yet
    - add tracks totally random

No, outboard Nvidia Gforce, Mp displayed on secondary screen(TV) in entended desktop mode.at the date this is the only plugin that I used that produce that effect, the same happen in ''now playing'' view , I maybe forgot to mention that the visualisation/album art box remain unaffected, those two view mode(curent playlist or now playing) work unfrozen for about 5 minutes once the playback is started.after that even if I stop playback i have to force close MP to reset it.
