What do I have to do to install moviethumbnailer again since it crashes all of the time with a lot of users...one suggestion is to reinstall it manually...but how...
I hope I can get some support soon...

The moviethumbnailer of MediaPortal seems to be broken. It keeps crashing.
How do I get it to work again or is it a bug?

It's 3rd party application. Just disable thumbnails (I disabled as well as the mtn.exe seems to be pretty keen to crash on the SD MPEG2 recordings I have).

movie thumbnailer (mtn) - Current version: 200808a. I would assume that MP is using the latest version.

Yes it seems to crash as soon as I enter the recordings section (which contain SD recordings). This never happened before and this did not happen the first weeks that I had 1.1.0 (EDIT damn versionnumbers :p I ment 1.0.2) installed...very weird, isn't it?

Could be different broadcasters transport stream that is causing the crashes. In general it runs very well, but seems that on some environments (like my own recordings) are causing it constantly to crash.

And as it is 3rd party application, we don't have that much knowledge how to fix it. And personally I don't care that much about the thumbnails that I would be ready to spend my free time on debugging some 3rd party source code.

Damn, that's the second thing I reported today that you don't see the need to 'fix' because personally it is too unimportant for you :D
I still think it's an added value when it works.

Nobody wants buggy software that keeps crashing all the time when they intend to install a "stable" version. In my opinion it's still in development and buggy, so it should not have been added to the stable 1.0.2 version.
I would say that a stable MP version should have a working solution... or don't implement it.
