How to set a manual recording from C#? (1 Viewer)

I have been looking over TvControl.chm for a function to set a manual recording. But I cant find any info on how to do this. There are plenty of function to stop a recording, view recordings etc, but none for starting it. Perhaps I am not looking in the right place. What I would like to do is to call a function to set a recording on a specific channel and give it start and stop times. Is this possible to do? Can someone please help me out here?

First of all, my statement above about no function for recording is not true. There is an function StartRecording which is overloaded 3 times. But it is not obvious how you can use this function to start a recording as none of the overloads let you specify a channel. As a test, I think I will just add a record manually in the database and see if it records.
