how to set number of items on list view (1 Viewer)

how do i set the number of list items on the screen at a time?

specifically, when a view a file list, there's 13 items on the screen at a time. i'm trying to mod the project mayhem 4:3 skin. when i play a file, the preview window in the bottom left covers up the bottom entry. the simplest thing is to just have 12 items and not have that bottom 13th entry on the screen.

i have this same problem with the 'moving pictures' plugin. there's 13 entries on the list view and the 13th entry appears right over the movie description. once again, the simplest solution would be to remove that bottom 13th entry.

Adjust the height of the list control. The width and height controls the space allowed for the list to fit. This can be done in the common.facade.... xml's. or in the list control of the xmls that contain their own (there are only a few). You may still have to adjust button height to make thinks fit nice.

that's what i thought, but i don't see anything even in the blue3 skin to set the height of a listcontrol. if you can direct me to somewhere specific in the blue3 skin files that i can use as a starting point, that'd be a big help.

You might want to check the references.xml. That's where most of the defaults are set for the skin xmls. You can also add the height control to an xml that includes some portion of the listcontrol for local changes (as in the common.facade.music.xml) and it will make the changes there. Other xmls that have a listcontrol will still be controlled by the references.xml settings.

The default listcontrol is about a third down, the 8th control from the top in the references.xml, below the skin setting. Make sure you also check some of the other sections also, for playlist, up/down lists, etc.

...very cool.

there was no height tag in the listcontrol for common.facade.music.xml . i had to manually add it, but now the preview overlay isn't covering the bottom entry. plus, the pagination is still accurate.
