    Installed Media Portal (123 ) for a few months ago. I am very satisfied with the MP, but I have some problems with the TV module. Changing channels is very slow (has opened up the windows firewall) and the EPG does not work.

    Should i Use the TV epg Grabber , the WEBEPG or the XMLTV, or how can I find out what I am using. I am sure the EPG is working, but I am not able to configurate it .

    Can anybody help me with this configuration ?

    toch,

    the following are the general steps to get WebPEG working

    1. select WebEPG > General, verify you set your country
    2. select WebEPG > TV Mappings, set "All Channels" or Favorites, etc in Groups, press "import", should see your channels in EPG Name column
    3. press "Automap", should see a "grabber" file from your MediaPortal TV Server\WebEPG\grabbers\YOURCOUNTRY folder for your channels
    4. select WebEPG > General, press "save" (important step), then "grab now"

    it looks like you completed step #3, have valid channels mappings, did you do #4?

    also is this MePo 1.2.3 or the 1.3alpha

    Thanks. You are right, I did not saved and grab. See appendix.
    But nothing happened - still doing something wrong. The result is still no EPG

    Hi Toch,

    sorry you are having this much trouble, getting the EPG working was not easy for me when I started. If you want to use WebEPG there are other forums with info, for example WebEPG Forum
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/forums/webepg.136/
    and there is a Norwegian message thread, maybe some guys in Norway know the "secret" to get this working, you may need to bribe them with beer
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/norwegian-webepg-sources-dead.89512/page-7

    What version of MePo are you using? I'm in the USA using MePo version 1.2.3.
    can you upload you tv.log file? my tv.log file (vista) is in the following folder

    C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log

    I was curious about your problems and manually mapped 6 US channels to the 3 Norway grabber files. The 1st 2 grabbers work, I get EPG info for the 1st 4 channels and 914 program were imported. My mapping info from C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\WebEPG\WebEPG.xml is pasted below

    <ChannelMap>
    ### these 4 channels/grabbers work
    <Channel grabber="NO\0-www_sol_no_detailed.xml" displayName="KTVU-HD" id="nrk1@nrk.no"/>
    <Channel grabber="NO\0-www_sol_no_detailed.xml" displayName="KRON-HD" id="action@canalplus.no"/>
    <Channel grabber="NO\1-www_sol_no.xml" displayName="KPIX-DT" id="nrk2@nrk.no"/>
    <Channel grabber="NO\1-www_sol_no.xml" displayName="KGO-HD" id="bbcworld.com"/>
    ### these 2 channels/grabbers did not work
    <Channel grabber="NO\m_nrk_no.xml" displayName="KQED-HD" id="nrkp1@nrk.no"/>
    <Channel grabber="NO\m_nrk_no.xml" displayName="KQED+" id="nrkbarn@nrk.no"/>
    </ChannelMap>

    Your 1st pdf file shows you are using the grabber that works for me "NO\0-www_sol_no_detailed.xml", so I'm not sure what is wrong.

    The tv server log file has debug info when WebEPG runs, it looks like this WebEPG and the grabber use the following web page(s). can you open the following with a browser?
    http://www.sol.no/underholdning/tv/guiden/
    http://www.sol.no/underholdning/tv/...&Date=2012-07-18&Categories=*&Channels=nrktv1

    when WebEPG runs I see the following tv.log info, is WebEPG getting this type of info when you run it?
    C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log

    Toch,

    Looked at the tv.log file and see a number of SQL database messages that look like errors but I'm not an SQL expert. My guess is the MePo WebEPG engine is working correctly but somehow the TV Server database is having problems. We need to get a "MePo SQL guru" to take a look. The SQL guru may want more complete error logs, see log file wiki for info. http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_MEDIAPORTAL_1/16_Support/3_Forums/2_Log_Files

    I'm not a SQL expert but the following types of messages do not look good,
    2012-07-01 21:42:03.300229 [SetupTv(1)]: Exec SQL: CREATE TABLE `CanceledSchedule` (`idCanceledSchedule` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment,`idSchedule` int(11) NOT NULL,`cancelDateTime` datetime NOT NULL,PRIMARY KEY (`idCanceledSchedule`),KEY `FK_CanceledSchedule_Schedule` (`idSchedule`)) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 ROW_FORMAT=DYNAMIC;

    Hi RonD

    Yesterday I did a re-installing of the MP. Then I set up the DVB EPG again ( I found the procedure on this forum by a Norwegian guide ) and now everything is working find.

    Again thanks for your feedback.

    Toch
