Hi, the title says it all, how do I start the last watched TV Channel automatically on MediaPortal start? I would like to know how to configure this so that media portal does this either with the video minimized, or in full screen. (I'm not sure what I prefer yet.) MediaPortal will be predominately used in my case for watching TV, so it would be helpful and a time saver to skip the other options I think.

OK I figured out how to get it to turn the TV on and switch to full screen when the TV option is clicked. But there doesn't seem to be a way to get to full screen TV from launch of MP on the desktop?

You mean from windowed mode (where MP is running in a window, and you can see other windows, task bar etc.) to full screen (where MP fills the screen)?
If so: alt + enter. That shortcut toggles between windowed and full screen mode.

No, I'm asking how to start the TV in full screen mode after starting MediPortal from cold from the desktop. I know you can switch to full scren and windowed mode in MP with alt + enter.

Here's what I would like to do step by step.

    Start Media Portal
    Wait for it to load
Have the TV Option launch in full screen mode on the last watched channel.
    That's all.

Basically one double click on the desktop to open the TV option on the last watched channel.

There is a rational for this. It's a little convoluted though. Basically I am launching an instance of MP using Advanced Launcher from within XBMC, because MP handles TV better on its own (particularly with the Microsoft DVB decoders enabled, rather than the LAV decoders). I think the Microsoft DVB decoders are the same decoders that are in Microsoft Media Centre (which for other convoluted reasons I can't have). The quality and performance seems hard to match. This option (to use external filters/decoders) isn't available in XBMC - which results in a fair bit of stuttering and reduced image quality when using XBMC to play TV, with MediaPortal as the backend. The EPG and recording functionality of Media Portal is also superior to XBMC.

So when launching an instance of MP from within XBMC, it would simply save quite a few button presses to have it launch straight into live TV. I know the choice is usually between XBMC and MP, but XBMC handles local and streaming file play back better in my view than MP. It also has a lot of cool scripts and plugins not available on MP. So this is just something of a compromise between the best of both worlds.

As I said, the rational is probably a bit convoluted.

Unfortunately this plugin doesn't work in MP 1.9. It keeps defaulting to 'home' as the start up option and can't be changed.

Make sure you install the latest version. Since it's buried in the forum post I attached it here.
