I am having performance issues with video / TV playback in 1.1RC1

I realize that there are several stuttering / framedrop issues in this release but I want to make sure that all codecs are set up ok and hardware-acceleration is working.

Is there a reliable way to tell whether dxva is being used by MP (or any other application)? Some kind of tool?

I am not much into that codec stuff and have been using SAF for quite a while now. My current SAF Version is 4.0.0 Final. For codec-configuration, please see my system-specs.

    Thanks a lot and cheers!

Run MP in windowed mode and keep Windows Task Manager beside it. Look at CPU usage :) Should be around 10-25% if DXVA is working.

Since you use SAF you should be able to play a video in MP and connect to remote graph with the included "Graphstudio". Check properties for the video decoder and check "Video out". Under biCompression I have DXVA.

Unfortunately, while watching "ARD HD" biCompression is "0x32595559 [YUY2]" CPU is around 75% so DXVA is NOT working?
However while watching a DVD DXVA is enabled and CPU utilization drops to 25%

Does anyone know how to debug this?

    Thanks and Cheers!

BTW: Everytime I close Graphstudio MP freezes and I need to reboot. Am I doing something wrong?

    Hello,

Did you manage to get a graph out of Graphstudio that you can post?

I never had to reboot after using graphstudio.... No idea what that can be.
