I already saw some threads about the Octopus Net from Digital Devices, so I want to make a short tutorial how you can use the Octopus Net with MP
System requirements
Setting everything up (2 methods)
Using the OctopusNet2MP tool (needs a lot network bandwidth ~50 mbit/s per tuner, but EPG available)
Using the tool from Digital Devices (no EPG)
System requirements
- MP 1.5 Pre and up
- Octopus Net
Setting everything up (2 methods)
Using the OctopusNet2MP tool (needs a lot network bandwidth ~50 mbit/s per tuner, but EPG available)
- extract the archive OctopusNet2MP.rar and run the OctopusNet2MP.exe
- select your Tv source (DVB-C or DVB-S)
- select your cable provide or satelite
- enter the IP of your octopus net
- click the import button
- Start SetupTv
- Go to TV Servers -> [PC-NAME] -> DVB-IP Media Portal IPTV Source Filter
- Select under Service "OctopusNet"
- check "Enable channel movement detection"
- Press the button "Scan for channels"
- After the channel scan is completed you can configure the rest of MP like you did with your normal TvCard.
Using the tool from Digital Devices (no EPG)
- Install the tool from Digital Devices which is attached to this thread or download the latest version from here (Octopus NET Konfigurations Tool)
- Open the "OctopusNet m3u for MediaPortal and VLC" and select your Tv provider
- Mark the channels which you would like to have in MP and press the green arrow. (Note: MP will grab all channels of a certain transponder, so you will probably end up with more channels than you have selected here!)
- Press the Button "In MediaPortal exportieren"
- Start SetupTv
- Go to TV Servers -> [PC-NAME] -> DVB-IP Media Portal IPTV Source Filter
- Select under Service "DigitalDevices.OctopusNET"
- Press the button "Scan for channels". This will take now quite some time, so be patient
- After the channel scan is completed you can configure the rest of MP like you did with your normal TvCard.
