I already saw some threads about the Octopus Net from Digital Devices, so I want to make a short tutorial how you can use the Octopus Net with MP :)

    System requirements
    • MP 1.5 Pre and up
    • Octopus Net

    Setting everything up (2 methods)

Using the OctopusNet2MP tool (needs a lot network bandwidth ~50 mbit/s per tuner, but EPG available)

    1. extract the archive OctopusNet2MP.rar and run the OctopusNet2MP.exe
    2. select your Tv source (DVB-C or DVB-S)
    3. select your cable provide or satelite
    4. enter the IP of your octopus net
    5. click the import button
    6. Start SetupTv
    7. Go to TV Servers -> [PC-NAME] -> DVB-IP Media Portal IPTV Source Filter
    8. Select under Service "OctopusNet"
    9. check "Enable channel movement detection"
    10. Press the button "Scan for channels"
    11. After the channel scan is completed you can configure the rest of MP like you did with your normal TvCard.
Note: I couldn't check my program with DVB-S so there is a high risk of an bug :) Also I used some code from MediaPortal, code available on request :)

Using the tool from Digital Devices (no EPG)
    1. Install the tool from Digital Devices which is attached to this thread or download the latest version from here (Octopus NET Konfigurations Tool)
    2. Open the "OctopusNet m3u for MediaPortal and VLC" and select your Tv provider step2.png
    3. Mark the channels which you would like to have in MP and press the green arrow. (Note: MP will grab all channels of a certain transponder, so you will probably end up with more channels than you have selected here!)step3.png
    4. Press the Button "In MediaPortal exportieren"
    5. Start SetupTv
    6. Go to TV Servers -> [PC-NAME] -> DVB-IP Media Portal IPTV Source Filter
    7. Select under Service "DigitalDevices.OctopusNET" step7.png
    8. Press the button "Scan for channels". This will take now quite some time, so be patient :)
    9. After the channel scan is completed you can configure the rest of MP like you did with your normal TvCard.

Tested a few times, but same Problem. With my own M3U no Problems. There must be a bug with the PIDs, that MP is finding wrong Channel Names.

Hmm, yes I see the Problem...
With just two channels in the list it was working, but somehow if you use all it doesn't.

One question, what happens if you add in your own list the pids 16,17,18 and make a channel scan?
I would test it myself but I can't do it myself until probably tomorrow evening. So if you have some time I would really appreciate your help :)
