HowTo have the latest version everytime ? (1 Viewer)

Hello.

First of all, I have to say "Thank you" to all members working everyday.

After some test on my own pc (tvserver,movie catalog,grabber), i've decided to buy a new pc only dedicated for this.

I've downloaded the latest production release at this time , I guess it was the 1.0.1.
Few weeks after, I found some problem (that are maybe already corrected or not) ;
- MediaPortal is not reachable after pc wake up, have to restart pc
- TV Guide shits all date +1 (tv records are not the things I've selected)
- tv guide are not readable sometime are wake up (something display)

And my problem is : how to be sure to have latest version without having each time to have to reset all things ?

I see that few days ago, a 1.1 alpha has been released; and that I have to remove all things before.

Is it possible to install this new 1.1 alpha and then having the possibility to install patch ? small update ? without to reinstall all things ?

What kind of data I will loose when uninstall 1.0.1 and reinstall 1.1 (cover of movies, tvServer channels config like mapping between tvcard & media portal) ?

Is it possible to install the 1.1 alpha without a complete "Installer", so just drag & drop files,update,patch ?

I'm sure that 99% of small bugs I can see everyday are already fixed ; and it could really great to have always the latest release everytime.

But this way, If I see something strange, I can directly check on the "toDo" and post it as a bug if not present.

1.1 alpha has to be installed from scratch. After that you can apply SVN upgrades without reinstalling.
Just remember that although it work great for many, it is still an alpha version.

You can manually backup a lot of stuff like your thumbs folder, export tv channels, etc. There is also a backupsettings plugin, but I have not used it in quite a while so not sure if it is still compatible and working.
