Ok, this is my 1st post (thanks for a fantastic plug-in) & I've been searching around but it's just not quite clear to me how I can keep the 'watched count' of a movie at 0 (always unwatched, even if watched). I currently use:
Win7 (32bit)
MediaPortal 1.0.5.2508
Moving Pictures 1.0.4.1070
X-Factor skin R581
I'm using the X-Factor movie list view and my goal is to just keep all my titles 'highlighted' in my list. Please forgive me if the answer is buried in a post somewhere - I'm still learning my way around...

Thanks,
jidelite

...Well I'll be, I meant to post this in the Moving Pictures forum but if someone can answer I'd be very greatful (this skin is fantastic as well).

Thanks,
jidelite

You could just use your remote control to reset the watched flag after you watched it (this is what I do myself).

Open the context menu (F9 on keyboard, or whatever button you mapped on remote) and use "Mark As Unwatched" option. You might need to go to "Movie Options..." first, depending on if you are at overview, or movie details.

    RoChess,
Thanks for pointing out the F9/Mark As Unwatched option. My hope was to avoid having to remember to take this extra measure to for every movie I watch.

    tfearme,
I'll give this a try as soon as I get to my HTPC but reading the doc on "Mark movie as watched after viewing" it would seem like the movie would still get flagged as watched when I go to end-of movie.

Actually, As I think about this, I don't mind having the watched count incremented. I can definitely see where this would come in handy if you have a very large catalog of movies and you need to filter out watched stuff. I've been digging around in the Moving pictures XML files (list views) looking for a way to have all my titles 'highlighted' whether watched or unwatched - if someone could help point me to the right file(s)/parms to change to keep my titles from being 'greyed out' once watch (keep the same textcolor as unwatched) I would greatly appreciated.

:sorry: for changing my requirements -

It sounds like you don't want the watched movies to show in a different color on the facade. You can do this by editing your skin.

I'm not familiar with the X-Factor skin, but if you look around in the skin xml files related to moving pictures, look for the facade control (it will have an id of 50). Once you find it, the elements you want to edit are the textColor and playedColor. textColor = unwatched movies, and playedColor = watched movies. Just make them both match if you don't want any difference between the two.

Hope this helps. BTW here's the skin designing guide if you want to tweak anything else:

ZealotSix, Thanks for pointing me in the right direction - I feel I'm close now but I still didn't find the right movingpicture xml/parm to update although I tried changing a few. I know I've changed my requirements mid-stream so I guess I need to go over to the X-Factor skin forum to get the specific files. Thanks for the link to the skin designer's guide as I was able to change the look and feel of some fields.

ltfearme & RoChess, thanks again for your suggestions - I have much reading to catch up on...
