HP MCE I/R emitter - Help needed (1 Viewer)

Is there anyone able to assist in getting the IR emitter working that came with the HP media center PC?

The details I have been able to get on the device is:

RCM-RCVR-I/R SNOWBALL W/EMITTER EPC
Part #: 5187-2503

Update- Remote works NOT I/R Blaster

Clarification on my original post:
The remote works OK (operates all PC functions).
Have been unable to get I/R to change channels on my sat reciever, from Media Portal. (works fine from MCE)
