HTPC + Keyboard & Remote. I forgot to make a picture of the Remote i use principally (Logitech Harmony 885)

    htpc02.jpg

On the very left are the 2 TV Cards. The Zalman Cooler fits exactly into the case... there is only 2 mm left at the top. ;)

    htpc03.jpg

7" Touchscreen on the left side, Card Reader and USB on the left.

    htpc04.jpg

Back of the Case. The analoge VGA cable is for the Touchscreen, the HDMI cable connects the projector

    htpc05.jpg

Rest of the HIFI Rack. Looks pretty empty now after removing TV Receiver and DVD Player. Under the Denon AVR is an APC UPC 1000W (uninterruptible power supply).

    Sanyo PLV Z5

Media Portal in Action. the Picture got pretty Dark... And yes, i know that i have an 4:3 Screen and a 16:9 Projector. The Projector i used before was 4:3. The Screen has a size of 2x2m.

Jup its running in Clone mode right now... i´ve tried several plugins & 3rd party programs to make the touchscreen controls more easy but it wasn´t successful yet..

Yes, a touchscreen is definetely something cool to get but I feel that it does not provide good usability yet. How do you do it when a video is playing, does it show on the touchscreen as well? I would guess this is rather annoying, or isn't it?

    Cheers,

yeah the video shows also on the screen. But i´ve done a macro that turns of the touchscreen via the remote. So it works fine so far. The most annoying thing is controlling the Menus with the touchscreen.

Are you also running a touchscreen?

Currently, no. My current system has a VFD which is good but not perfect for navigating when the main screen (projector) is off. Check my system specs.

Touchscreen is an upgrade that I've been thinking about for a while, but I have (maybe conflicting) requirements that make it hard to find a good solution.

    - The applications I use is music, with the projector off, and TV/Videos with the projector on
    - Case size and depth should be modest. The Silverstone GD02-MT is the only touchscreen case I found so far that doesn't come with a depth > 400mm. I acutally like the idea of having a compact touchscreen, but I'm uncertain about the resolution of 272x480 with the silverstone. Maybe this is too small to browse my music collection.
    - Since the case is postitioned just below the silver screen the touchscreen *must* be turned off when the projector is running.

I saw in your profile that you are running an ATI video card. How does your macro work, are you using Catalyst profiles? From reading different forums I got the impression that ATI doesn't work well when displays are activated/deactivated. Can you confirm this?

    Cheers,
