HTPC trek (1 Viewer)

Hi, I have been trying to make an HTPC for 6 years,with no success
recently tried mediaportal with little success also.
seems my tv cards are no good- yuan DVB2go usb and winfast expert deluxe 2000
although I did get a picture for awhile with winfast card, no sound though.

I was wondering is there anyway to make mediaportal open my winpvr as a separate file ( much like you would with a picture or video file?)
I love the interface
In the 6 year ordeal the only frontend that came close was Binary metals- My theater,which no longer works.

If there is no way to get my TV cards to work or open as an external extension of mediaportal- what cards definitely work?

You can setup MP in 6mins

MP supports a large number of TV cards, they're all listed in the documentation section.

As for opening your winpvr files, just add the folder to their location and the file extension in the my videos configuration.

Some more information on your setup would be helpful to, have a read of the How to start a support thread for full details.

well, Have been trying MP for the past 2 weeks! and the last 48 hours non stop apart from some sleep! LOL
OK yeah my pc is old-
XP pro version 2002 with sp2
AMD athlon 2000 xp
167ghz
384 ram
Nvidia Gforce4 mx 440 with agp8x

Sorry, there seems no way to open and drop a folder into the "my videos plugin"?
or to configure it?

YAY!! (after 72 hours) I actually got the Winfast tv 2000 xp to work!
-In MP set up go to television-then capture cards ignore unable to graph card,
then tune and use leadtek video/sp decoder
the only problem now is sound is ahead of the picture?
