This is a pretty widespread issue, and now i'm getting it too. Having it fixed would be a lot better than having to buy another tuner card.

The HVR-2200 seems to have issues switching back from analogue to digital, and it appears it will 'kill' the tuner. In a previous test i occupied one tuner with recording digital, and then switching back from analogue to digital 'killed' the second tuner. When i stopped recording on the first tuner i could watch TV on that one fine, until i did the same thing and killed that one too. Unfortunately i didn't get the full logs for this.

I've tried reproducing it and got most of what happened before until MP froze and i had to end task. Heres what i did
Tuned TV to One (DVB-T). Recorded.
Tuned to TV 3 (DVB-T).
Switched to TV 2 (analogue)
Switched to TV 3 (DVB-T). Mediaportal gives the 'cannot start timeshifting' error.
Switched to TV 2 (analogue). Mediaportal freezes with not responding (left for 2mins)

Log files attached.

I've the same problem, Disabling Hybrid card grouping works for me. The change from analog to digital and vice-versa don't produce anymore this error.

Hi there, I've got this problem too, with the Hauppage HVR-2200 Tuner card.

Has anyone come up with a solution to this?

    Hi,
Could you attach logs after this has happened, so we can check it?

    Regards
    Roy

    Hi Roy,
It doesn't crash mediaportal, the only error messgae I get is the "Unable to start timeshifting" error, and it will go back to the previous channel. I'll see if I can stop MP and get the log files next time it happens. Also, for some reason, it now doesn't record on the analogue tuner for any scheduled recordings, but it will if I'm watching the channel and manually start the recording.
I'm using MP 1.02 by the way. I've downloaded the latest drivers, and will see if this makes a difference.
