I broke My TVSeries (2 Viewers)

I restarted my HTPC this morning and now it wont work.

It says nothing is there (No items can be found or something). I emptied the database and reimported which is a PITA to do since half my series need manual name searches. Still no luck so I did it again, didn't work so I cracked the shits, threw my keyboard and decided I'd come back to the problem.

Any ideas?

Post your log files.....and see if they offer anger management courses somewhere in your area I guess.

I'm having the same problem now.
Opened Mediaportal yesterday and no files in Mytvseries.
Had a look in the configuration and it looks like it can't get series data??
the load up screen shows 120 seasons and now ever many episodes but no series.

The scroll down at the bottom has this error -

    Commit failed on this command: <select online_series.ID, online-series.Pretty_Name, online_series.SortName, online_series. Genre, online_series.BannerFileNames...........

Emptied Database and tried to re-import -

13/01/2010 3:10:52 p.m "star trek" was automatically matched to "Star Trek" (SeriesID: 77526)...
    13/01/2010 3:10:57 p.m Commit failed on this command: <select* from online_series where online_series.ID = 77526> (SQLiteClient: cmd:sqlite3_finalize err:CORRUPT detailed:database disk image is malformed query:select* from online_series.ID = 77526)

    Anyone got any ideas??
All other parts of Mediaportal seem to be running fine.

Anytime you contemplate using the manual search override, you should have a good look at your filenames, and see if the "String Replacements" system would be a solution.

Have a look at the FAQ @ https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/my-tvseries-162/faq-frequently-asked-questions-read-first-76029/

It should explain how you can make your entire collection match fully automatic.

Emptied Database and tried to re-import -

Export all your settings that can be saved, such as the 'String Replacements', and write down all the other settings (make screenshots otherwise to make it easy).

Then delete the database file instead of emptying it. I would suggest also running a full chkdsk scan on your harddisk before you start MediaPortal again, because this problem can also occur if you got sector or index problems.

Re-configure the plugin and then try again. And I suggest to also read the FAQ, it might make things easier.

Thanks for the tip with manual name searches.

I didn't end up fixing mine. Had to do a clean install of windows so did that and it was fixed.

I have the exact same problem! - same Corrupt message. A empty & re-import didnt fix it. I'd rather not delete the whole db file just yet!

Clean install of windows seems like overkill :) Very interesting that its happened to a few people on the same day!

You do realize you only need to delete the database for MP-TVSeries right? If you did an empty, that's like 99% of a delete already, the only thing that 1% holds is the settings, such as import path, views, etc. Some of those settings can be exported and re-imported, so for most people the only real setting lost is the Import-Path.

    Yep I know :)

I'll have to make a note of my import paths..

still - as this happened to a few people, all on the same day - something fishy going on?!

I've only had to do a delete once, because the database corrupted with me deleting episodes outside of the MP-TVSeries plugin. Now I delete them from within and never have any problem at all. The corruption problems occured at random after a pretty long time of me deleting files manually. Does that sound familair to you?

I also know problems are brought out faster when thetvdb.com goes down (that's what triggered the problem to become unbarable for myself as well), and it has been going down recently again, possibly on the day you had all your problems (which would also explain why multiple people all have the problem at the same time, because the thetvdb.com link is shared by everybody using this plugin).

This has been happening for the last week for me. The db3 file is actually corrupt, which is why the command fails as shown in one of the posts above. The only way to fix this is to take a copy of a recently backed up db3 file for TVSeries and replace the corrupt one.

If you dont have a backup copy then the only way to do it is to delete the file.

A Tip is to take regular backups.
